The joint conference between Yamaguchi University Japan and University Malaysia Pahang has been conducted on 1^st December 2021 through online. The theme of that conference was "Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering for sustainable future".

In the conference, the welcome addresses have been delivered by Professor Hiromori Tsutsumi and Asso. Prof.Ir. Dr. Nik Mohd Zuki Nik Mohamed, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, YU and Dean, College of Engineering, UMP, respectively.
Professor Yukio Nakata of YU has been delivered the Keynote lecture entitled of Geotechnical study on prevention of debris flow disaster. In his lecture, the mechanisms of debris flow and the possible countermeasures have been explained. The geo-disaster of debris flow is common both in Japan and in Malaysia. So, future collaboration related to the topic will be very needed. Besides the keynote lecture, there were 4 invited lectures in the conference. Dr. Muzamir Hasan and Dr. Ramadhansyah Putrajaya from UMP and Dr. Hirotoshi Mori and Dr. Azizul Moqsud have delivered their lectures related on current topics of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.

Four students from both sides also presented their research in the conference.
The conference has been chaired by Dr. M. Azizul Moqsud of Yamaguchi University and with the support of online symposium project of faculty of Engineering, YU.
